Recipes for Healthy Avocado Smoothies

Eating a diet that contains plenty of fruits and vegetables of all kinds has long been associated with a reduced risk of many lifestyle-related health conditions. One of the best ways to incorporate fruits and vegetables into our daily diet without destroying the nutrients and beneficial phytochemicals is making smoothies. When it comes to fruit juices some people prefer them clear  and some prefer with the pulp. The pulp is important because it contains fiber, an important component of a healthy diet. The advantage of smoothies that are made from avocado is that removing pulp is not needed. Anyone can enjoy the creaminess of the fruit. Smoothie is not just a drink, it can be prepared as a  complete meal by adding nuts, green leaves and different fruits. 

Avocados are special because they are the only fruit that give a substantial amount of healthy monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA).  Not only that Avocados are a great source of vitamins C, E, K, and B-6, as well as riboflavin, niacin, folate, pantothenic acid, magnesium, and potassium. They also provide lutein, beta carotene  and omega - 3 fatty acids.

01. Avocado and Banana smoothie (Serving size : 02)

Ingredients : 

  • One medium size ripe Avocado 
  • One medium size ripe Banana
  • 200 ml of ready to drink milk 
  • 1 tsp of sugar (optional)
  • ½ cup of water 

Preparation 

Cut the avocado into halves, and remove the seed. Then scrap the flesh of the avocado into a mixer. Cut the peeled banana into chunks, add them into the mixer. Add milk, sugar and water into it and mix until it becomes  smooth. Pour into glasses and then enjoy your healthy drink!

 

02. Chocolate Avocado smoothie (Serving size : 02)

 Ingredients : 

  • 1 ripe avocado peeled and pitted 
  • 1 banana chopped 
  • 1 cup of chocolate milk (240 mL)
  • Water as preference. 

Preparation

Add avocado, banana, and chocolate milk to the blender and blend until smooth. Adjust the smoothness by adding water. Pour into the glasses, and enjoy!

 

03. Avocado Banana and Lemon Smoothie (serving size : 02 )

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup of avocado sliced
  • ¼ cup of parsley 
  • 2 tbsp of grated Ginger 
  • ½ cup lime juice 
  • ½ cup banana sliced
  • 2-3 ice cubes 
  • water 

Preparation: 

Blend all the ingredients in the blender,  and process until smooth. Add water to adjust the smoothness. Pour into glass and serve chill 

 

04. Avocado and Mango smoothie  (Serving size: 02)

Ingredients : 

  • 1 cup of fresh mango 
  • 1 medium avocado 
  • 1 cup of yogurt
  • 2 cups of water 
  • 2 tbsp of honey or sugar  

Preparation: 

Put  all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth. Add more/less water depending on preference for thickness.

 

05. Strawberry and Avocado green smoothie   (Serving size: 02)

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup  fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 1 ripe avocado skin removed and pitted
  • 1 cup  fresh baby spinach leaves 
  • 1 large banana, fresh or frozen and cut into chunks
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, chilled
  • 1 tbsp of sugar (optional)

Preparation : 

Put  all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Garnish with strawberries and enjoy. 

 

06. Avocado and Coconut smoothie  (Serving size: 02)

Ingredients : 

  • 2 large, just ripened avocado
  • 2 cup whole Greek yogurt (vanilla or honey)
  • 12–16 TB honey or agave nectar, depending on desired sweetness
  • 3 cup unsweetened coconut milk
  • 2 cup baby spinach leaves

Preparation :

Combine all ingredients. Blend until smooth. If desired, add crushed ice and blend until desired smoothness. Serve immediately or chill.
