Raita

Raita is a condiment in south asian cuisine made of yogurt or curd together with raw or cooked vegetables. It can be eaten with biryani, rice, vegetable dishes, naan and even with sandwiches. In addition, You can eat it by itself as a savory yogurt snack; you can use it as a marinade for chicken; you can serve it as a side or topping to lamb chops, fried things, stuffed breads or roasted vegetables.
Raita cools down the heat of Spicy foods and helps to digest a heavy meal. That’s why raita is eaten with biryani. All the ingredients of raita cools down the body.

Ingredients :

1 cup of fresh yogurt or curd

2 deseeded and chopped green chillies

1 onion chopped

1 tbsp of finely chopped coriander leaves

½ cup of peeled. deseeded and chopped cucumber

Salt as per your taste

½ tbsp of sugar
-
¾ cup of chopped mint leaves
-
½ tbsp of roasted cumin powder
Method :

Add 1 tbsp of curd/ yogurt, mint leaves, sugar,salt,and chili to a blender, and mix them well.

Take the mixture out of the blender jar into a mixing bowl.

Add the rest of the curd/yogurt into it. Then add chopped onions and chopped cucumber.

Sprinkle with cumin powder on top.
- You can add vegetables like cabbage,tomato and carrots if you like.
