Banana flower seeni sambolaya

Banana flower is also a superfood. It has outstanding beneficials to health. It is rich in essential minerals like iron, magnesium, calcium, potassium, copper and phosphorus. Banana flower is a popular food in Sri Lanka. We consume It as a curry cooked with coconut milk, sambola or as coconut stir fried (mallum).
This is the recipe to make banana flower as a sambola.
Ingredients :

One Banana flower
-
¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder

Cinnamon powder or pieces as per your taste

4 -5 Cardamom seeds

A piece of Pandan leaf
-
1 ½ teaspoon of tangerine juice
-
Salt as per your taste
-
Red chilli pieces as per your wish

1 teaspoon of Maldive fish powder
-
1 tablespoon of coconut oil
-
Chopped onions
-
Curry leaves
-
Sugar as per your taste

2 Green chilies
Method :
First cut the banana flower in thin pieces and add into tumeric water ( turmeric powder mixed with water) and wash them well. Then drain the water and add cinnamon, cardamom,pandan leaf,turmeric powder and salt into it and mix well. After that the mixture should be heated in a shimmer. After about one minute add the tangerine juice. When the banana flower mixture starts to become dry add red chili pieces and maldive fish powder. Let it heat further. Add chopped onions, sugar, green chilies and curry leaves into it and let it heat until the mixture becomes completely dry. Then add oil and let the banana flower mixture wither with oil.
