Let's make Sweet Potato Roti

Sweet potatoes are sweet, starchy root vegetables that are grown worldwide. They come in various sizes, colours, including Orange, White, and are Purple and are rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. They provide a number of health benefits & and are easy to add to your diet. As Sri Lankans we eat boiled sweet potatoes with Chilli sambol or Coconut sambol. Sweet potato roti is a different way to add this nutritious root to your diet. Let’s see how to make sweet potato roti.
Ingredients :

One or two sweet potatoes

One cup of wheat flour (one cup of wheat flour is enough for one sweet potato root, if you take two sweet potato roots then get two cups of wheat flour)

One tablespoon of sesame seeds

Salt as your taste

Onions (chopped/sliced)

Chopped Garlic (optional)
-
Two or three green chillies
-
Curry leaves
-
One tablespoon of oil
Method :
First boil the sweet potatoes and peel them. Roast the sesame seeds. Saute the Onions, Garlic, Green chilli and Curry leaves. Place the sweet potatoes in a bowl and add salt, then smash them well. Add wheat flour, roasted sesame seeds, sauteed Onions into the smashed sweet potato and mix well. Make small balls out of the sweet potato dough and make roti. You can eat them without any curry or you can try spicy chicken/fish or prawn curry.
